QS:
How can one tell if this
is a 4-Star or a 5-Star
Hotel?
ANS:
By the STARS you see when
the BILL arrives.
Likewise,
one has to invest in HUMANITY
for building a 5-STAR
PERSONALITY.
Now, I am a firm believer
of the axiom:
"EVERYBODY
is SOMEBODY because NOBODY
is NOBODY."
That was one of the fundamental
principles my wife and
I used to fertilize the
ground for raising our
daughter Anahita.
When Anahita was a toddler,
I asked myself the following:
"What
makes ANAHITA a 5-STAR
PERSON?"
The 5-STARS were and still
are:
The Spirit of
Unconditional Love
and Forgiveness,
with Honesty,
Integrity, and
Spirituality.
These were the FOUNDATIONAL
STARS on which we started
to BUILD a GALAXY of CHARACTER.
And to-date by the grace
of Ahura Mazda, Anahita
has lived-up to be the
5-STAR MODEL that she
was molded to become for
humanity.
I believe the same 5-STAR
philosophy can be used
to create 5-STAR PERSONALITIES
in our COMMUNITIES.
At birth, everyone is
endowed with the SEEDS
OF GREATNESS.
All we need to do is just
simply:
RECOGNIZE
the STARS and not CRITICIZE
the SCARS, in OTHERS.
All we need to do is:
ZOOM-IN
CONSCIOUSNESS to ZOOM-OUT
VICIOUSNESS.
And this will happen when
use the 5-STAR ATTRIBUTES
of
ZARATHUSHTRA'S PHILOSOPHY
as described in the 5-GATHAS
(Sublime Songs), namely:
-
AHU-NA-VAD (Divine Manifestation)
- OUSH-TA-VAD
(Divine Bliss)
- SEPAN-TA-MAD
(Divine Progress)
- VOHU-KHU-SHATR
(Divine Power) and
- VAHISH-TO-ESH
(Divine Wealth)
to build a 5-STAR ZARATHUSHTI.
This will also happen when
we put on the hat of Good
Thoughts, Good Words, and
Good Deeds so that we can
find what we seek.
However, it is important
to note that:
We must first BE what we
want to SEE, to continue
to SEE what we want to BE.
(Ha Ha).
President Ronald Reagan
on board Air Force One was
once briefed:
"Mr. President, we
were told that the Head
of the country we are visiting
next, is planning to put
you down to bring himself
up. But don't worry, since
you are going to speak first,
we will prepare a speech
for you that would be so
strong and bashful that
they won't have a chance."
To which Reagan graciously
responded:
"Oh NO. We are going
to do the exact opposite.
We will prepare a speech
in which we will say so
many nice things about them
that they will be embarrassed
to say any bad things about
us."
This
trait truly depicts the
characteristic of a 5-STAR
Zarathushti.
Using Good Thoughts, Good
Words and Good Deeds to
spread so much consciousness
that there is no room for
viciousness.
President Reagan also wisely
said:
"A
great leader is not
the one who does great
things
But the one who inspires
others to do great
things."
|
I
like to rephrase this wisdom
by stating that:
"A
5-STAR Zarathushti
is not only the one
who does great things
But also the one who
inspires others to
do great things."
|
President
Reagan was also one of those
exceptional human beings
who after being shot, prayed
first for the person who
shot him, before he prayed
for himself.
It was because he believed
and lived the following
philosophy:
"Never
make an adversary into an
enemy."
Something, that I find to
be an exemplary icon of
a 5-STAR Zarathushti.
A mother and daughter were
washing dishes while the
father and little Bobby
were playing in the living
room.
Suddenly they heard a crash
of falling dishes. They
listened.
"It was Mom,"
said Bobby.
"How do you know?"
asked the father.
"Because," answered
Bobby, "she isn't saying
anything."
I believe that:
"We must use words
to communicate unless silence
will speak better."
That I find to be a mark
of a 5-STAR Zarathushti.
In "THE
PROPHET" Kahlil
Gibran (1883-1931) wrote:
"You
are the bows from which
your children as living
arrows are sent
forth. The archer sees the
mark upon the path of the
infinite, and He bends you
with His might that His
arrows may go swift and
far. Let your
bending in the
archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the
arrow that flies, so He
loves also the bow that
is stable."
In other words:
"You
are like a bow and your
children like arrows, ejected
in an endless direction.
Let your bending
to shoot the arrow be filled
with joy and optimism."
I believe that in order
to create a joyful future
generation of 5-STAR
Zarathushtis, we need to
be flexible
but stable
(like the bow) in our
thoughts, words and deeds.
FLEXIBILITY
with STABILITY
to cultivate NOBILITY
in our thoughts,
words and deeds.
A person while toasting
for his brother said:
"To the
r in the brother
- without it, you'd just
be a bother."
I wonder if this "R"
which isolates a BROTHER
, stands for
"REVENGE."
A 5-STAR Zarathushti knows
that even when two people
are at different
ends of the spectrum, they
still both belong to the
same
spectrum.
It is the essence of this
B-longing
that culminates the longing
for
BROTHERHOOD
in humanity.
So, are we looking to be
a BROTHER, or become a BOTHER?
Somehow, in life, whatever
we are looking for is looking
for us; and
whatever we focus on expands.
Especially, when one is
focusing on the GALAXY of
STARS.
The stronger the focus the
greater number of stars
one sees because the divine
universe provides an unlimited
reservoir of SHINING STARS
for all of us to tap on.
The same theory works when
one FOCUSES on the STARS
in our fellow
human beings. It magically
magnifies and multiplies.
But the question is: WHAT
ARE WE FOCUSING ON?
HOLDING RELATIONSHIPS OR
FOLDING RELATIONSHIPS...
CONSCIENCE or NONSENSE...
SOLUTION or POLLUTION...
SHINING STARS or WHINING
SCARS... HEALING OR PEELING...
SPREADING CONSCIOUSNESS
OR SHREDDING VICIOUSNESS!
A girl while fasting during
a Jewish holiday visited
a doctor who ordered an
urgent urinalysis.
The nurse gave her a container
to collect a sample.
Since this girl had had
no water for over 18-plus
hours, she was unable to
procure the desired sample.
So she went to the nurse
and said:
"I'm sorry, today is
my Jewish Holiday and I
won't be able to go to the
bathroom today"
To which the nurse responded
with awe:
"Are you telling me
that its against your religion
to go to the bathroom today."
Sometimes, two people while
looking at the SAME
thing, see entirely a different
picture.
But a 5-STAR Zarathushti
recognizes that:
" When you cannot see
someone else's POINT
OF VIEW, look for
the VIEW
BEHIND THE POINT,
and you will see something
worthwhile
there."
It is the dimension of this
consciousness that:
CREATES
TRANSFORMATION & CREMATES
DEFORMATION.
Having said that:
My wise grandmother used
to tell me:
"Meher,
when we judge others we
don't define them, we define
ourselves."
I found this valuable guidance
to be applicable in both
ways.
When we judge the good in
others, we strengthen those
attributes in ourselves,
which eventually defines
the quintessence of our
being.
This simple philosophy can
be used to build a 5-STAR
ZARATHUSHTI in
our 5-STAR COMMUNITY.
We just need to start with
5-STAR QUALITIES and the
DOMINO
PRINCIPLE will build the
rest.
QUALITY building PERSONALITY
& COMMUNITY in HUMANITY.
And by the way, it works
more effectively when we
work on it with the TRUTH
OF LOVE instead of the LOVE
OF TRUTH.
It
is because I have
found that:
|
With
LOVE you are never
ALONE
With TRUTH you may
be on your OWN
|
(Ha
Ha)
|
Furthermore,
my life's experience has
taught me that the ONE-STAR
which always shines the
best is the STAR OF UNCONDITIONAL
LOVE.
With that sentiment, I will
leave you with the following
image to reflect upon...
