A day
of thanks, a day of giving
Can be found in each day of living
A little girl had this
note on her bedroom door: "God Bless the Mess".
There is a profound wisdom in these words because we do not realize the
mess we get into when we do not allow God to bless our lives.
At a graduation ceremony, students would not pray due to a specific court
ruling.
Interesting enough that neither the Staff nor the Students, in their respective
presentations, mentioned a single word about divine guidance or even asked
for blessings....
Until the last speech in which...
A student got up, walked to the microphone, stood silent for a moment,
and then delivered his big speech --- a hearty sneeze.
The rest of the students got up in
the spirit of togetherness and there was a resounding
"God Bless You."
This student received a standing ovation
with a round of an applause for his Godly presentation.
And the graduating class was blessed by God - with or without the court's
approval.
Isn't it amazing how God works in our
lives!
One Saturday evening, a pastor was working late
and decided to call his wife before he left for home. But no one answered
the phone even though the pastor let it ring a few times.
Later when the pastor inquired from his wife, she said that the phone
did not ring in their house.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call from a man on the same
phone that he'd used to call his wife on Saturday night.
The man wanted to know why the pastor had called so late on a Saturday
night.
Initially, the pastor could not decipher what the man was talking about.
Then the man said, "The phone rang and rang and rang, but I did not
answer."
Suddenly, the pastor realized that it was a misdial during his attempt
to call his wife on Saturday night.
And, so the pastor apologized for the inconvenience.
The man said,
"That's OK.... Now, let me tell you my story.
You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but just
before I was getting ready, I prayed....
'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign
now.'
And at that very moment, my phone started to ring.
I looked at the caller ID, and it said, "Almighty
God".
Somehow, I was afraid to answer!"
The reason why it showed that
the call came from "Almighty God"
is because the church that the pastor was calling from is called Almighty
God Tabernacle.
I will leave you with this story to ponder upon:
A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he
felt.
He said, I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart.
One wolf is vengeful, angry, and violent. The other is loving and compassionate.
The grandson asked him, 'Grandfather, which wolf will eventually win the
fight in your heart?'
The grandfather answered, 'The one I feed.'
Let
us feed ourselves and others with the Blessing of God.
