A little girl and her father were crossing a flimsy bridge.

The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter:

"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."

And the little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand."

"What's the difference?" asked the puzzled father

"There is a big difference," replied the little girl.

"Dad, if I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But, if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind but in its bond.

Q: Where did the idea for "Father's Day" come from?

A: The idea for "Father's Day" began with a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd. She'd been raised by her father after her mother died. Since her father's birthday was in June, she chose June 19, 1910 to hold the first Father's Day celebration.

In 1926, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City. Still, incredibly, it wasn't until 1972 that President Richard Nixon established a permanent observance, to be held on the third Sunday of June.

Father's Day

As a kid, I drove you mad
And you showed your madness a tad
Then you held me closely dad.

In my teens, I was so rad
I followed the latest fad
Yet you were the coolest dad.

When you didn't make my grad
First it drove me mad, then sad
Now I see your sacrifice dad.

There were times that I was sad
Then out of nowhere, was glad
That nowhere was mainly you, dad.

Through the times that have been bad
And the times that joy I've had
I loved you, and I love you dad.

Now in heavens resides my dad
With angels' wings glides my dad
Always, in my heart abides my dad.

This is the time for love to last.
Let us share it in such a way, that everyday, becomes a Father's Day.
