POKUMAN: I need to speak with you.

VOHUMAN: Why me?

POKUMAN: Because your name means wisdom.

VOHUMAN: And you want to Poke on that wisdom… Just teasing!!!
So, what can I do for you?

POKUMAN: Well, I am having a sweet problem?

VOHUMAN: Hmmm, you mean your blood is becoming sweeter!

POKUMAN: Yah, my doctor said, I am becoming diabetic and if I don’t do something about it now, this sweet problem will end up making my life really bitter. Do you have any wise suggestions buddy?

VOHUMAN: So you want to butter the bitter to make it better. In that case I have a bitter solution for you. Ha Ha. I have heard that bitter gourd or melon works like a charm.

POKUMAN: Yuk, some solution you are giving me; tell me something better!!!

VOHUMAN: Ok then, how about trying cinnamon with ginger and clove in organic lemon juice?

POKUMAN: Ooooooooo!!!  What does it do?

VOHUMAN: This concoction helps in reducing diabetes due to its hypoglycemic activity.

POKUMAN: So does organic apple cider vinegar with red chilies and turmeric.

VOHUMAN: So you also know something, ha. Just teasing!!!
But your info works best when used with food.

POKUMAN: What do you mean?

VOHUMAN: It is true that that concoction suppresses the glycemic response, provided it is done correctly or else you will end up in a big doo doo. So listen properly. First warm up the food, then add a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar, red chilies, fresh garlic (if you are not going for a date) and the juice from a half freshly squeezed organic lemon. To further suppress the glycemic surge from foods, you can also add one tablespoon of Cold-Pressed Unrefined Organic Flaxseed Oil along with a tablespoon of Cold-Pressed Extra-Virgin Olive Oil on the already warmed food.

POKUMAN: Sounds Yummy, but isn’t that going to make me fat.

VOHUMAN: No Silly, one is the brain fat the other is the heart healthy fat. It will also make you look sharp and smart.

POKUMAN: But I thought that the Omega-3 Fish Oils work the best for your brain?

VOHUMAN: Yes, that is also true provided you use Molecularly Distilled and Pharmaceutical Grade Fish Oil. This process removes marine contaminants such as PCBs, mercury and heavy metals. It is widely sold in gelatin capsules containing a mixture of omega-3 fatty acids including higher quantities of EPA and comparatively smaller quantities of DHA (2:1 ratio). It is because the brain normally contains DHA, but not EPA.  In a 600 mg of Omega-3 fish Oil Softgel, the optimum balance is 400 mg of EPA versus 200 mg of DHA. You should take them after meals because fish oils are concentrated, and without food, difficult to digest. Supplements are best taken right after meals because digestive enzymes will metabolize the fish oil successfully.

By the way Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids that are useful for many functions in the body. The principal omega-3 fatty acids include alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) found in flaxseed oils, as well as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which are found in seafood, including fatty fish and shellfish. If you're a vegetarian, no need to worry, the body can turn ALA into DHA and EPA.

Omega-3 fatty acids may be important for a number of bodily functions, including muscle activity, blood clotting, digestion, fertility, and cell division and growth. DHA is important for brain development and function. ALA is an "essential" fatty acid, meaning that people must obtain it from food or supplements because the human body cannot manufacture it.

POKUMAN: Talking about becoming smart let me ask you a smart question.
What foods do I put it on? Got Ya!!!

VOHUMAN: Steer clear from processed foods if you don’t want to get boxed and canned at an early age. Don’t be fooled by this All Natural or Organic Healthy labels. All Processed foods are FOODLESS FOODS and there is nothing Natural or Organic about it. They lack the enzymes found in fresh foods and puts a lot of toll on your body that contributes to DIABESITY, which is DIABETES from OBESITY.

POKUMAN: You are dodging my question. I am asking you what to eat and you are telling me what not to eat.

VOHUMAN: Patience, my friend, patience.

POKUMAN: But you are testing my patience. I am hungry and waiting for you to tell me what to eat.

VOHUMAN: OK, you are getting grumpy which means your sugar is getting affected. No kidding.

POKUMAN: Are you going to tell me before I eat you up and become a HUMANitarian!!!

VOHUMAN: Arey Baba, Tension Naheen Lehnay Ka. For vegetables the best vegetables are String Beans and Squash. Did you know that squash actually squashes your hunger pangs? Other good vegetables are Spinach, Okra, Kale, Broccoli, Tomatoes and Cauliflower. For fruits the best ones are Apples, Bananas, Pears, Figs, Nectarines, Blueberries, Raspberries and Peaches. No more than JUST ONE serving of fruit at any given time.

POKUMAN:  Should I eat fruits before or after my meals?

VOHUMAN: About 20-minutes before each meal, because fruits being alkaline do not get digested in the stomach, but are digested in the small intestine (which has an alkaline environment).Eating fruits after your meal makes it sit (in the acidic stomach) and ferment on top of the food you just ate as a result it does not provide the same nutritional benefit. Also eating fruits before a meal, help to detoxify your system and reduce your overall caloric intake, which lends itself to weight control. It also provides energy and helps you obtain the essential nutrition for good health.

POKUMAN:  Why 20-minutes?

VOHUMAN: Because it takes most fruits about 20-minutes (bananas take about 35 to 45) to digest. If you eat them at the end of a meal, your digestive juices break down the fruit and it can't leave your stomach while your meal is still digesting; so the fruit is going putrid while your meal is digesting under it (one great cause of gas) and by the time fruit gets to your intestines there's not much left of it. 

POKUMAN:  Should I be drinking water with my meals?

VOHUMAN: No. Drinking water with your meals dilutes the digestive enzymes. Drink a cup of filtered water about 15-minutes prior to your meal and 2-hours after your meal. It may also help to lose weight too. Furthermore to get the best value from water drink two cups immediately after you wake up and two-cups just before bed time. And avoid tap water. It contains a lot of contaminants that are detrimental to the human health. Also use a good quality water filter for your showers to prevent absorption of toxins through your skin (the largest organ) during showers.

POKUMAN: I remember one time you were telling someone not to use Olive Oil for Cooking and stay away from Canola Oil. What do you use for cooking?

VOHUMAN: For cooking, I use 100% pure Grape Seed Oil and sometimes Organic Cold pressed Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. They both have a stable fat profile as well as a desirable Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. For salads, I use Cold-Pressed Unrefined Organic Flaxseed Oil, Cold-Pressed Extra-Virgin Olive Oil and Cold-Pressed Unrefined Organic Hemp Seed Oil. Also Organic Macadamia Nut Oil is a superb choice for cooking and salads because it gives you an enormous metabolic advantage - excellent for those having trouble getting rid of stubborn fat, particularly around your belly, hips, thighs and butt.

POKUMAN: Are you also going to suggest that I eat boiled food?

VOHUMAN: No, on the contrary I suggest that you spice it up with Turmeric, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cumin, Clove, Sage, Dried Mint, Parsley, Coriander, Fennel seeds, Sesame seeds, Black pepper, Red pepper, Mustard powder and Curry powder.  Then add fresh Onions, Garlic, and Ginger to the cooked food to get the best nutritional value from it.

POKUMAN: Since you are a NUTRITARIAN VEGETARIAN, do you take any nutritional supplements?

VOHUMAN: Yes, the Sunshine Vitamin D and B12. But others can also benefit from them especially diabetics. It is because normal insulin secretion depends on the presence of the vitamin D. Studies show that low Vitamin D activity causes both an increase in insulin resistance and reduced insulin secretion. It is good for your teeth and bones. It supports healthy immunity, promotes healthy bone density and lowers blood pressure. It also prevents cancer, vision problems, juvenile diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and MS. Vitamin D is fat soluble and is found in egg yolk and deep water fatty fish. When it comes to food the best bet is PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE OR MOLECULARLY DISTILLED COD LIVER OIL – One tablespoon per day will do the trick or you can take it in Soft Gels. For me, prudence dictates that upper levels of no more than 2000 IU/day. And by the way purchase only supplemental High Potency 1000 IU vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), not D2 (ergocalciferol). Furthermore, about 12-15 minutes of daily sunshine on your arms, hands, feet, legs and back without sunscreen works wonders too. The optimum spot on the body is between 6-fingers above and 4-fingers below your belly button. You don’t need to strip, just lift your shirt up and enjoy the blessing of sunshine.

POKUMAN: By the way isn’t  “Pulling Teeth”  your secret to a good and vibrant health?

VOHUMAN: No Silly Dilly. You mean “Oil Pulling” in the mouth. Oil Pulling does not control diabetes directly but it creates an alkaline environment in the mouth that could potentially prevent the onset of diabetes and other degenerative diseases in the body. If you just follow this advice properly your health will change in ways you can’t even imagine because disease prevention begins in the mouth. In other words your oral health is essential to your overall health.

POKUMAN: REALLY!!! Tell me tell me, what I need to do. Pleeease, pretty please tell me. I heard it also removes your bad breath. I really need a clean mouth for my social life.

VOHUMAN: OK OK. I am an early riser. First thing in the morning, I drink a cup of filtered water. Then I take one tablespoon of oil (either organic coconut oil or grape-seed oil) and swish my mouth with it for about 7-12 minutes. Then spit it out. Then I warm up a cup of water, add a quarter teaspoon UNREFINED sea salt with a dash of powdered sage in it, stir it for a minute; and then properly swish/gargle my mouth with the entire solution.

Then, I warm up another cup of water, add a quarter teaspoon of NON GMO, ALUMINUM FREE ORGANIC Baking SODA (Not Baking Powder). The only ingredient it should have is sodium bicarbonate and no corn starch, juice extracts or sodium aluminum sulfate. I properly swish and gargle my mouth with half of this solution and drink the remaining half. This is a powerful urinary tract cleanser and a natural mild stool softener. Baking soda is an alkaline compound that reduces acidity in the body. Thus it has the propensity to alleviate the symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, infections and arthritis.

Then I brush, floss and brush my teeth with a little bit of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide on my tooth brush. I use a SOFT BRISTLED TOOTH brush. The Medium or Hard bristled tooth brushes are not advisable as they can literally scrub away your teeth and gums.

POKUMAN: That’s it. It sounds pretty simple.

VOHUMAN: Yes; and if you want to add spice to your life then add this to your daily regimen too. This is a powerful digestive aid and liver cleanser if done early morning after brushing. Warm up a cup of warm water, add juice of an organic lemon with some red chili powder, ground ginger and ground clove. Drink it and eat the left over lemon. Keep in mind that lemon juice erodes the tooth enamel so drink it with a STRAW. Then swish and drink some water right away to prevent this possible erosion. But lemons are considered one of the most alkalizing foods you can eat. This may seem untrue as they are acidic on their own. However, in the body, lemons are alkaline; the citric acid does not create acidity once it has been metabolized. The minerals in lemons are actually what help to alkalize the blood.  Most people are too acidic (from eating too much sugar and grains), and drinking warm lemon water helps reduce overall acidity, drawing uric acid from the joints. This reduces the pain and inflammation which many people feel. It is because lemons contain powerful antibacterial, antiviral and immune boosting components.

I also do this stomach/kidney/bladder cleanser daily in the morning after brushing. A cup of Aloe Vera Juice or filtered water with 3-tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, half teaspoon of cinnamon with half teaspoon of turmeric along with some black pepper and mustard powder. Keep in mind that this concoction also erodes the tooth enamel so drink it with a STRAW. Then swish and drink some water right away to prevent this possible erosion. So now you have my secret. Are You Happy?

POKUMAN: Yes. Do you have a sweet solution for my sweet cravings?

VOHUMAN: Yes, by adding raw organic spinach to your diet in the form of salads or in your smoothie (make sure to include the stems). Thylakoids a compound in spinach stems has been shown to curb hunger and reduce craving for sweets. Thylakoids work by slowing down the digestion process, giving intestinal hormones time to communicate to the brain that we are satisfied.

Furthermore, for your sweet tooth, add baking soda to the water you drink and sip it throughout the day. This is also a powerful kidney/bladder cleanser especially for those prone to urinary tract infections. Also use Organic Vanilla cream and lotion on your body after a bath. Carry it with you all the time. Apply it generously on your face and hands and see what happens to your sweet cravings. You will also have a smoooooooth face. Good for your social life. Ha Ha.

POKUMAN: What does baking soda do?

VOHUMAN: Mouth, by nature is supposed to be alkaline. When it becomes acidic it craves sweet foods. Baking soda restores the mouth back to its alkaline state. Diseases cannot manifest in an alkaline environment. They only incubate in an acidic environment. That’s why the leading cause of most pain is the accumulation of acidic byproducts in the muscles, which interfere with the normal conduction of electrical impulses in the muscle tissue. This pain can be sublimated by drinking 8-glasses of distilled water daily (with cinnamon, cardamom, dried mint, fennel seeds, lemon juice and little honey) and choosing foods that flush the toxins from the body and neutralize the inflammation causing acids.

POKUMAN: Talking about toxins, I heard that toxins from proteins put a toll on your kidneys. Is that true?

VOHUMAN: Yes and No. It depends on the choice of Protein because the toll depends on how much Protein your body has absorbed.  What is not absorbed becomes uric acid and that is what puts a toll on the kidneys and liver especially for diabetics.

POKUMAN: Can you elaborate a little bit on how much Protein does one need on a daily basis?

VOHUMAN: Well, my rule of thumb is: “Take one-third of your body weight in pounds and convert it to grams.” In other words if your body weight is 150 pounds you will need about 50-grams of protein per day. It is imperative to understand that while the human body is equipped to store excess carbohydrates and fats consumed, there is no place for the body to store excess protein. Instead, it is broken down and converted to carbs, fats, and to ammonia that is excreted in the kidney, where it can cause significant problems over time. That’s why I prefer to consume less than 20-grams of protein in any given meal.

POKUMAN: You mean we have “CLEAN” as well as “MEAN” Protein!!!

VOHUMAN:  Yes. The BEST Protein ABSORPTION is somewhat in this order because the following foods will help keep the acidity in balance and improve the immune system:

POKUMAN: So, an egg is considered as a good source of Protein?

VOHUMAN: Yes. ONLY REAL EGGS, not processed commercial eggs (from a carton).
It is because processed eggs contain “obesity boosting additives” like artificial ingredients, chemicals, preservatives and even gluten-like fillers and compounds that can increase your body’s toxicity levels and impact your weight loss efforts. If you order omelets or scrambled eggs in a restaurant ask for real eggs to prevent being served with processed commercial eggs.

POKUMAN: By the way, I have a tendency to go nuts for nuts. Can I have nuts?

VOHUMAN: Yes. ONLY RAW (not salted, roasted or toasted).

POKUMAN: Why Raw Only?

VOHUMAN: Because only RAW nuts and seeds have live enzymes with healing properties, which are otherwise destroyed by the heat of roasting or salting. Enzyme is a digestive protein in raw foods which is destroyed at a temperature above 118°F.

POKUMAN: I get it. Which ones should I go nuts for?

VOHUMAN: Raw Almonds, Walnuts, Cashews and Pistachios; but no more than a handful per day. Let me check your hand. Your hand is too big buddy. No kidding.

POKUMAN: But my size is too big too.

VOHUMAN: As a token of respect, I was trying to avoid this topic but now that you have mentioned it let me tell you that reducing your waist size will make a considerable difference in preventing you from becoming diabetic. Also daily exercise works wonders for controlling diabetes.

Keep in mind that the prime focus has to be on

FAT LOSS not WEIGHT LOSS.

A Rapid Weight Loss generally comes with
a lot of water loss, substantial muscle loss and itsy bitsy fat loss.
That is very counterproductive for our health. Please be mindful of that.

And by the way keep in mind that:

No one puts on weight without putting something in the mouth.
The question is: What are you putting in your mouth?

POKUMAN: That’s easy to say for someone who does not eat much.
What is your hunger suppressant secret?

VOHUMAN: So you want to know my SMOOTH SECRET… Hmmm...

POKUMAN: You mean it helps to get a SMOOTH FLOW. HA Haaaaaaaa.

VOHUMAN: Yes. A SMOOTH FLOW IS REQUIRED FOR A SMOOTH LIFE. No kidding. Most mornings I make this delicious smoothie in a blender and I use a STRAW to drink it to prevent cavities and enamel erosion of the tooth. I use one tablespoon of Chia Seeds soaked overnight in one cup of Organic Almond Milk, one cup of Organic Coconut Milk, two bananas, either a pear or an apple or three figs, a handful of Organic Baby Carrots, one teaspoon of powered cinnamon, one teaspoon of turmeric, six tablespoons of Hormone Free UNFLAVORED Cross Flow Micro-filtered, Low Temperature Processed Whey Protein; four tablespoons of Organic Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds, one tablespoon of Organic Flax Meal, one tablespoon of Organic Cacao Bean, and two tablespoons of organic fine Oat bran.

I also add one Tablespoon of Non GMO Raspberry Lemon Flavor Magnesium Supplement powder. Magnesium relaxes your nervous system and removes the toxins stuck in your fat cells thereby improving your fat burning metabolism

Sometimes, I also add a few drops of vanilla extract. It contains powerful aromatic compounds that stimulate certain brain chemicals that soothe the mind. It's also loaded with vanilloids, powerful compounds that reduce brain inflammation, sharpening your mind and speeding thinking. Once in while I also use rosewater to give it a rosy flavor.

POKUMAN: But that’s a pretty heavy duty drink to finish in one sitting.

VOHUMAN: No silly, I divide it in three equal parts, store it in sealed glass bottles and drink it in the morning, afternoon and evening or share it with other members of my family.

POKUMAN: Before we close this discussion, I heard that most antiperspirants and deodorants affect your lymph nodes which eventually can cause cancer. I have tried many natural alternatives but they somehow don’t seem to get rid of my stink. Do you have a good smelly solution?

VOHUMAN: Yes. But let me tell you a story first. I used to use MINT FLAVORED Milk of Magnesia but then found out that it contains two TOXIC inactive ingredients namely Saccharine Sodium (a carcinogenic excitotoxin) and Sodium Hypochlorite (an oxidizing bleaching agent).

Thus, now I use UNFLAVORED ORIGINAL Milk of Magnesia.
The only inactive ingredient it has is Purified Water.

So, apply ORIGINAL Milk of Magnesia after a shower in your axillary (arm pits) and pubic (you know what) areas and you will smell like a baby of the day. Works best if used immediately after a warm shower. I also add baking soda to Milk of Magnesia for myself. But, this combination may not be advisable for females especially in the genital areas. First properly shake the bottle before applying its contents.

And if you drink a tablespoon of it before sleep, you will not only sleep like a baby and in the morning poop like a baby. But this drinking business is ONLY for as needed OCCASIONAL USE for a SMOOTH FLOW and NOT to be practiced daily.

POKUMAN: What else is good for a SMOOTH FLOW?

VOHUMAN: 3-Tablespoons of Olive Oil with a large cup of warm water at wakeup and bedtime.

POKUMAN: You seem to have a SMOOOTH skin like a Baby. What is your secret?

VOHUMAN: I use good quality Baby Mineral Oil. Ha Ha.
Immediately, after a warm shower I apply it on my wet body from head to toe and continue massaging it until my body becomes virtually dry. But DO NOT apply oil on your feet while you are in the shower to prevent slipping and falling. You can do it after you come out of the shower and are standing on a dry surface area.
I also use a gentle brush during a shower to remove the dead skin from my entire body.

POKUMAN: And what do you do for itchy skin?

VOHUMAN: So you want something to ditch your itch. Just teasing!!!
I use Tea Tree Oil and Awapuhi liquid face wash for the entire body during a shower and after shaving. It has natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It is also a very potent body odor eliminator.

POKUMAN: By the way you seem to age well.
Do you have any anti-aging foods under your sleeve?

VOHUMAN: Yes.

Beans - The unique proteins in beans thicken and strengthen your hair cells.

Brazil Nuts - Brazil nuts are rich in selenium, a mineral which aids in the production of the anti-oxidant glutathione to help slow down the skin aging process.

Tomatoes - Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which has been shown to support heart health and healthy cholesterol levels as you age.  Lycopene also acts as a natural sun block to keep skin youthful and protected from harmful UV rays.

Raspberries & Blueberries - These two berries contain important anti-oxidants to help offset inflammation and oxidative stress that contribute to skin aging and wrinkles.  Just one serving of either of these berries contains more anti-oxidants than 10 servings of most other fruits and vegetables.

Organic Eggs - Despite the bad rap eggs get because of their cholesterol content, which is based on completely erroneous science, eggs are rich in biotin and iron which help to promote healthy, youthful skin and hair.

POKUMAN: What’s your opinion about wheat consumption?

VOHUMAN: I see wheat as a Brain-Drain. It has addictive properties in the brain. It contains compounds called “exorphins” that have an effect in the brain similar to opiate drugs.

POKUMAN: Talking about Brain-Drain, how can you reduce the mercury load?

VOHUMAN: Choose salmon and trout instead of tuna, shark, swordfish, or tilefish.

POKUMAN: I love the SALT of life. Is it really that bad?

VOHUMAN: Salt actually is good for your health if it is NATURAL UNREFINED SEA SALT and is consumed in moderation. It helps to balance your blood sugar, helps keep your bones strong, regulates your metabolism, and boosts your immune system. Natural, unrefined sea salt provides a number of nutrients and minerals, in a way that the body recognizes and knows how to use. On the other hand, refined table salt is pretty scary. It often contains harmful anti-caking agents, some of which have been linked to heavy metal toxicity and kidney problems. A common preservative in these refined salts, sodium acetate, may cause elevated blood pressure and kidney disturbances.

POKUMAN: I like to eat my food warm, is that OK?

VOHUMAN: Yes, provided the food is not cooked or warmed at a HIGH temperature to prevent glycation or else your body becomes a sugar factory and makes you fat. This includes foods that have been fried, barbecued, broiled or cooked in the microwave. This is also true of many pre-packed foods that have been preserved, pasteurized, homogenized, or refined, such as white flour, cake mixes, canned milk, dried milk, dried eggs, dairy products including pasteurized milk, and canned or frozen pre-cooked meals. Glycation literally cooks us to death.

POKUMAN: Ha, what is glycation?

VOHUMAN: Glycation occurs when excess sugar in your blood stream bonds with proteins turning them into sticky toxic little molecules which consequently turn off your fat burning engine and converts it into a sugar burning engine. It contributes to fatigue and eventually premature aging.

POKUMAN: What does that have to do with cooking food at a HIGH temperature?

VOHUMAN: Well, when you cook food at high temperature, it creates a browning effect, which is also called glycation. Glycation causes chronic inflammation by generating free radicals which disrupts the hormonal system. Most processed foods are also glycated foods because the major cause of glycation in the body is excess sugar and fast-burning carbs in the diet.

Furthemore, it’s not just “what you eat but also what’s eating you up”, that causes glycation.

Stress keeps you in sugar burning mode and increases your risk for glycation. It is because stress causes the body to burn sugar, which in moments of perceived emergency is OK, but can be devastating if continued for a prolonged period of time.

A healthy body is a ‘fat burning’ and not a ‘sugar burning’ or a ‘fat storing’ body.

POKUMAN: Any special tips on boosting my metabolism!

VOHUMAN: Yes. Go RAW if you can. It is because cooking increases the amount of calories your body absorbs from food. Somehow, the digestive process requires less energy when food is cooked, allowing more calories from food to be absorbed. The cell walls of raw nuts and other raw plant foods lock in fats, preventing their full absorption.

Furthermore, if you want to whittle your waistline, load up on dietary fiber.  Spiking your meals and snacks with fiber will temper blood sugar fluctuations, which discourages fat storage.

Also, sleep 8-9 hours between 9:00pm–7:00am. It helps to flush toxins out of your body. Spice up our menu with Hot Peppers, the hotter the pepper, the better. Turn down the room temperature to 63°F (17°C) or below. Steer away from artificial sweeteners because some of them kill the healthy probiotics in the gut, where 80% of your immune system lives. Eat lean protein like organic eggs and plain Greek yoghurt; raw almonds, cashews, walnuts, and pistachios, organic sprouted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. And eat organic foods to prevent ingestion of metabolism stalling pesticides.

POKUMAN:  What is your opinion about Antioxidant?

VOHUMAN:  The best source of natural antioxidant for our body is Grounding.

POKUMAN:  What is it? Is it some kind of punishment?

VOHUMAN:  No Silly. An antioxidant serves as an electron donor and so does Grounding but with an astronomically stronger effect.

POKUMAN:  I don’t get it.

VOHUMAN:  Well, let me explain!

The key source of cellular/tissue destruction and all debilitating diseases in the body is inflammation, which is primarily caused by free radicals rampaging in our bodies.

Now, electrons have a negative charge, while free radicals have a positive charge.

POKUMAN:  So what you are saying is that Grounding is the landmark discovery that the ground’s energy upholds the electrical stability of our bodies and serves as the foundation for vitality and health. It is because the soil by nature has soothing, strengthening, cleansing, and healing properties.

VOHUMAN:  That’s right buddy. However, this incredible life changing revelation has been known by ancient civilizations for thousands of years. It’s the sun’s energy coupled with rain and lightning strikes (about 5000/minute) on the earth that makes it a Bio-Battery (Electron Donor). And we by nature bio-electrical beings.

Furthermore, our bodies and cells have electrical energy, and especially with the high prevalence of Electromagnetic waves, Microwaves, Wi-Fi and mobile phone waves, many of us have a high amount of positive electrons (free radicals) built up in our bodies due to the static electrical field of these devices.

POKUMAN:  And these positive electrons in the form of free radicals can be balanced by having a direct contact with the ground which has a negative grounding charge.

VOHUMAN:  Yes, and what many of us don’t realize that these devices are just not frying us while they are on, but they also leave a static field around us which must be dissipated by Grounding. POKUMAN: Ah Haa I get it now. So what you are saying is that since the Earth as well as our body is mostly water and minerals, both are good conductors of electrons and that's what makes us and the earth electrically conductive. And when we connect with Mother Earth, it normalizes the electrical stability of the body, which in turn allows the body to heal itself.

By the way, how do we know that the body actually absorbs those electrons?

VOHUMAN: The earth is filled with an abundant negative charge by virtue of having an infinite supply of electrons. The human body is generally electron deficient. Whenever you have two conductive surfaces/objects that make contact with each other, in this case our bare feet and Mother Earth, electrons will flow from a place where there are abundant towards a place where there are fewer of them. The electrical potential of the two surfaces/objects will eventually equalize. That’s Grounding. At that very moment, the body is in tune with nature because it equalizes and maintains the natural electrical potential of the Earth.

POKUMAN: Hmmn, But I am still having difficulty seeing the connection between inflammation and free radicals.

VOHUMAN: Inflammation is an Electron Transfer Disorder and so are all autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Type-1 diabetes, Psoriases, and about 80 other disorders. Free radicals are positively charged unstable molecules that are missing a negative electron. They are released in the body as a part of the autoimmune response. So when your body detects a pathogen, it releases a free radical which strips/removes a negative electron from that pathogen. This destroys the cellular structure of the pathogen which is then released to the blood stream so that it can be dissipated out of the body.

POKUMAN: Can you tell me a little bit about autoimmune disorder and what causes it?

VOHUMAN: Normally, our immune system protects our body against infections caused by bacteria, viruses and other parasites. It recognizes when something foreign enters your body and can usually get rid of it before it causes you any harm.

An autoimmune disorder occurs when the body's immune system attacks and destroys healthy body tissue by mistake. There are more than 80 types of autoimmune disorders.

The white blood cells in the body’s immune system help protect against harmful substances.

Examples include bacteria, viruses, toxins, cancer cells, cells, and blood and tissue from outside the body. These substances contain antigens. The immune system produces antibodies against these antigens that enable it to destroy these harmful substances.

When you have an autoimmune disorder, your immune system does not distinguish between healthy tissue and antigens. As a result, the body sets off a reaction that destroys normal tissues.

POKUMAN: So, what is an Antigen?

VOHUMAN: Originally the term Antigen came from Antibody generator.An antigen is any substance that causes your immune system to produce antibodies against it. An antigen may be a foreign substance from the environment, such as chemicals, bacteria, viruses, or pollen. An antigen may also be formed inside the body, as with bacterial toxins or tissue cells.

POKUMAN: And by the way, what is a Pathogen?

VOHUMAN: The first link in the chain of infection is the pathogen. A pathogen is anything that causes a disease. Furthermore, all stresses in the body whether they are physical, emotional, psychological or electrical, they become like pathogens in the body, and the body has to remove them to normalize itself. Grounding reconnects the body with the earth so that it can achieve homeostasis. This helps to normalize the immune system because homeostasis is the maintenance of a constant internal environment.

POKUMAN: That makes sense, now tell me, what is the best way of Grounding?

VOHUMAN:  The best way to connect with Mother Earth is by walking bare feet on either wet grass or the beach sand submerged in salt water. For grounding to work effectively, you must be barefoot and in direct contact with rock, dirt or water.

POKUMAN:  Why wet grass or beach sand?

VOHUMAN: Water and Salt are both extremely conductive and salt water is also very high in magnesium.

POKUMAN:  Why on your two feet? How about a hand stand?

VOHUMAN:  Ha Ha. LOL.  Both will work. Because the control center for the whole body is in our hands and feet. The meridians to the vital organs as well as the entire body either begin or end on the feet or hands. Furthermore, there are reflexes on the bottom of the foot that are directly related to organs, glands and other parts of the body and Grounding provides an acupressure-like stimulation to these points, which in turn helps these organs, glands and body parts to work together in harmony.

Also, our two feet have about 250,000 sweat glands. They also have the most amount of nerve endings per square inch of skin than any other part of our body. And interesting enough that a quarter of all the body’s bones are in our feet (There are 52 bones in a pair of feet).

POKUMAN:  Why walking bare feet?

VOHUMAN:  Because rubber sole acts like an insulator and completely blocks all the free electrons that shield and nourish our Mother Earth. Pure leather shoes are OK, but nothing beats walking bare feet.

POKUMAN:  Why is leather OK?

VOHUMAN: Because leather is made from animal skin, which conducts electrons; and thus maintains a direct conductive contact between the Earth and your feet.

POKUMAN:  What happens if I don’t have grass or the beach around me?

VOHUMAN:  Grounding involves coupling your body to the primordial natural energy emanating from the surface of the earth.. Even by stepping onto wet stone or a concrete slab connected to the ground, you are encompassed with free electrons at the speed of light. But walking on roads will not work due to the insulation in the asphalt. Swimming in the sea or a pool at ground level also provides direct physical contact with the earth. Furthermore, by sitting or sleeping in direct contact with the Earth or using a device that creates the same response while indoors.

POKUMAN: What type of devices are we talking about?

VOHUMAN: There are Grounding/Earthing Pads and/or Bed Sheets to use when you sleep, and Grounding/Earthing Mat for use in your home or office during the day. There are also Grounding/Earthing Car Seat Pads that can also be used in automobiles and for travelling in air planes. There are also Grounding/Earthing Bands that one can wear while sleeping or sitting in one place. Also, there are Grounding /Earthing Patches that allow localized grounding at any point in the body. It can be used by simply applying them to the skin on that part of the body where you have pain or tenderness. These patches are similar to the ECG/EKG electrode patches commonly used by doctors for testing purposes. Furthermore, Grounding Footwear is also available in the market but I am not sure about its efficacy compared to other alternatives. It is because for this footwear to really work, one has to walk on a conductive surface all the time, which in this modern world of 'insulation' is difficult to accomplish effectively.

POKUMAN:  In a nutshell, what type of health benefits does Grounding provide in general?

VOHUMAN: Grounding defuses the cause of inflammation and improves or eliminates the symptoms of many inflammation-related disorders. VOHUMAN: Our body has an internal clock that follows the rhythms of night and day. Airplane (high speed) travel confuses this clock, causing the phenomenon known as jet lag.

During Grounding, the electric potential of the human body equals with the electric potential of the Earth. However, the value of it mainly depends on location, time, atmospheric conditions and moisture of the surface of the Earth.

Furthermore, at any point on the surface of the earth, the electrical potential fluctuates according to the position of the sun and the moon, creating cycles such as the circadian cycle which is our daily rhythmic activity cycle (sleep-wake-eat), based on 24-hour intervals.

The intensity of this electrical energy is more positive and energetic during the day (our wake-up time) and less positive during the night (our rest/sleep time). This perspective helps to understand how passengers after crossing various time zones can reset their internal clocks to “local time” by grounding themselves at the new destination. POKUMAN: How long do I need to Ground at this new destination?

VOHUMAN: For about 15-20 minutes.

POKUMAN: So what you are saying is that:

During the day, the sun gives tons of energy to the electrons on the surface of the Earth, thus making them vibrate faster. And at night, this energy dissipates, making the electrons vibrate slower.

And higher vibration during the day creates a frequency band of the brain waves that corresponds to mental alertness.

On the other hand, slower vibration during night time creates a frequency band of the brain waves that corresponds to a calm, meditative, sleep-like state.

VOHUMAN: You are absolutely correct. And that’s why:

Grounding at night gives you better sleep
Grounding during the day gives you more energy

And by the way, the influence of the Earth on the human body is more powerful at night than in daytime, as a result one experiences the extraordinary curative effect of the earth far better at night than during day time.

It is because night is the time for our bodies to heal, recover and repair themselves. At night our bodies are more receptive to the earth, and can connect effectively to its natural rhythms.

Also, if you use grounding during the evening, it can help to reset the melatonin cycle, which is important for good sleep. Normally, after sunset as the light decreases the same melatonin cycle changes to prepare us for sleep.

Grounding connects our bodies with the Earth’s natural cycles. These cycles play a vital role in synchronizing biological clocks, hormonal cycles and physiological rhythms.

POKUMAN: How does Grounding help to sleep better?

VOHUMAN: People sleep better because they have less pain, they have less pain because they have less inflammation, and they have less inflammation because electrons from the Earth are nature’s anti-inflammatory antioxidants. They are the best treatment for inflammation.

POKUMAN: So it seems that Grounding/Earthing is good for everybody

VOHUMAN: Well… Yes and No!!! The only exception is that you have to be extremely careful if you are taking any Blood-Thinning Medication like Warfarin or other pharmaceutical anticoagulants. First talk to your doctor before Grounding/Earthing because Grounding/Earthing has a significant blood-thinning effect. The combination of medication and Grounding may possibly cause excessive thinning of the blood. You need to monitor your blood carefully and frequently in the beginning to determine how the Blood-Thinning medication dosage needs to be adjusted under the close supervision of your doctor.

Please note that the above restriction holds if you are using any specific devices for Grounding/Earthing for a significant amount of time. Grounding/Earthing naturally by going barefoot for a walk on the beach or on the grass for a few hours is OK.

POKUMAN: Thank you, now do you have any other suggestions to prevent diabetes or any other diseases.

VOHUMAN: Yes. EAT SLOWLY and stay away from any foods that contain HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, HYDROGENATED OILS, GMOs, PRESERVATIVES, ARTIFICIAL DYES AND COLORS; AND SUGAR SUBSTITUTES.

By the way, anything that is WHITE is also not good for you and this is not a racist statement. White rice, white sugar, white bread, white pasta and list goes on. I am not a fan of Colas, Tea or Coffee. Minimize your use of boxed or canned foods even when they are labeled Organic, because they are also categorized as processed foods which I find to be FOODLESS. In my opinion they are DEAD FOODS with DEADLY side effects.

TO STAY ALIVE WE MUST EAT LIVE… FOODS.
